The Strategic Climate Risks Initiative (SCRI) submitted evidence to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Climate, Nature & Security inquiry. The 2026 inquiry report, Before the Border: Climate Migration & UK National Security, directly features SCRI’s work on UK climate exposure, cascading risk, and Atlantic ocean circulation dynamics.
SCRI’s submission highlights that national security planning must extend beyond viewing the UK solely as a destination for climate migration. The UK is directly exposed to cascading global shocks and internal mobility pressures of its own.
