Climate risks that cascade through financial systems, supply chains or the power grid — think of the economic impact of this summer’s heat — are “where there is the most obvious and most worrying gap,” said Theo Cox, senior strategist at the Strategic Climate Risks Initiative, who co-authored a recent proposal on climate risk governance aimed at the Commission.
